Exceptionally skilled in the field of orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Louis has been an integral part of the Hinsdale Orthopaedics team since 1997. His exceptional surgical skills are complemented by a personable style and dedication to the highest quality patient outcomes and satisfaction. Fellowship-trained in the area of trauma, he treats patients with traumatic injury, particularly those with pelvic injuries, complex fractures, nonunions, and infections. In the more recent years his practice focuses on anterior hip and knee replacements. Hinsdale Orthopaedics is a new division of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. Providing state-of-the-art treatments by the highest quality physicians in a most caring and attentive manner is the hallmark of this practice. Steven S. Louis, MD, attended the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, and received his medical degree in 1991. Furthermore, he conducted his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin (1991 – 1996). In addition, he completed his fellowship training in orthopedic trauma surgery at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Louis received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Orthopedic Trauma Association, the DuPage County Medical Society, and the Illinois Orthopedic Society. Voted a Top Doctor in Orthopaedics by US News & World Report, Dr. Louis is the recipient of the On-Time Doctor Award (2016, 2017, 2018), the Patients’ Choice Award (2017, 2018), and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2017, 2018) from vitals.com.
